Chartcore Gamer

Rather than do a new chart every day, I think I’ll just pick one day a week and put up multiple charts at once.

Here’s this week’s batch of charts, including the one I posted yesterday.

Not to discourage you chris, but saw you abandoning the original plan almost instantly after Reading yesterdays post.

Great idea for a weekly thing though, but where’s the return of “to the death!”

sry for double posting but chris..
finally buy a 360! Bully wont crash! The games will look better! TF2 will not be updated anymore! :D
I love my 360 but the only thing that sucks is the lack of TF2 updates.

I played Counter Strike the other month and felt like a filthy whore for days.

Never again.

@ ChillaGorilla…

Most games look a whole lot nicer on the PC than the Xbox, but it may just be Chris’ bad PC graphics you’re talking about.

I don´t say that the xbox 360 is better than every pc :D :D
I just meant that it will be better than on chris pc. and by the way when you own a console you never need to buy new graphic cards and stuff and new games look nice anyway.
I play both. Pc and 360. So don´t hate me :D

Hm…feeling PC gaming is superior to consoles?

GO CHRIS! ><

Anyways…I own a 360/PS3, but mostly just for exclusives, or third-person shooters. (I can never imagine playing one on PC for some reason) I will always get a PC version, though, if the option is open, which in some cases, like TF2, allows me to laugh maniacally at everyone that bought it on consoles. (BWAHAHAHAHA! XD)

Actually, most games don’t look THAT much better on PC than consoles…

Like S-Guy, I own an Xbox 360 for exclusives, but feel that PC gaming is superior.

ok. I feel like making you all happy.
Full of expectations and motivation I decided to preorder the orange box for 360. I preordered it. I even played the whole half life series again. and GOD I love Portal!!! …and I liked TF2 at the beginning. but then I started to see things like sandviches and boxergloves on youtube and 1fort. fuck you microsoooft!

Bah, I knew you’d abandon your plan almost instantly!

To be honest, your TF2-sniping skills over time pretty much coincides with my skills in any online game there is and ever was, from Call of Duty to Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike to Age of Empires. I’m a total loser until about 3/4 of the game has passed when I somehow manages to get a 10 kill streak and feel real good. That is, until some evil ****** hits me with a rocket in the face, which seems to happen no matter what game I play.

Oh, and a reminder from the vultures. You have 14 days to revive Nondrick. After that…well, if you’re lucky, you’ll never find out.

In my opinion, I like the X box 360 because the screen is wider and the X box controls give the game a more natural feel. Although there are some better games on the PC, I’ll probably stick to being a “console ‘tard” because my PC is broken anyway.

XChillaGorillaX
April 16, 2009

@Addicted: how do you mean that the screen is wider? you need to buy a wide screen - then you got a wider screen. but what if you own a old telly? :D
but you are right with the controls. :D

The only games that I prefer on console are driving and sports games, everything else I prefer on PC.
And of course, lets not forget that great abomination, console strategy games. *shudders*

In response to Sinister Minister, I just think PC shooters are better, but console shooters still have given me plenty of fun and joy; they’re still quite playable.

I’m beginning to think about it, but there are probably times playing TF2 on the Xbox 360 when I’ve had more fun than when I was playing on the PC version. Like defending Dustbowl with just my fists.

I own a 360, but I prefer not to play games on four-year-old systems.

When I went to upgrade my gfx card for my PC - a pretty simple thing to do - it took a few weeks of forum browsing, customer services and repeated fiddling into the depths of things I didn’t understand and had to learn before I found out why the card wouldn’t work. Everything should have been fine, it all was compatible, however the type of chipset on my motherboard sucked ass.

So I’d have to fork out for a new board to go with my new card, and who knows what else to fit the new board.

Or I could just buy a 360, plug in, play. Which I did. The only things I miss are using a keyboard/mouse and the brief enjoyment of some mods.

Just like Chris I spend about 5% of my console time playing on my Wii, even though I don’t own a PS3 or 360. I LOVE playing sports/racing games on consoles (I bought Madden one year for the PC and it was the least supported, buggiest piece of crap ever. The game would actually freeze if you scored a touchdown in the last 30 seconds of the first half. And no gameplay patch! Just updated rosters that ruin the game), but I cannot imagine playing TF2 on the 360. My buddy got Half-life for PS2 (it was 8 years ago, big whoop, wanna fight about it?) and it was just absolutely terrible. I’m sure I should give the newer consoles a chance, but I find that every time I play a FPS without a mouse/keyboard I end up shooting the ground/sky far more often than any of my opponents.

Your fourth chart would be exactly the same as mine, except I think about how console gaming is far superior, and wish I had a good enough graphics card to at least play the HL2 demo.

Heh, nice.

And get Bully SE on the Wii. Graphics and controls may take some getting used to, but it’s not buggy at all.

Finally got a decent laptop with which to play games on the other week, and after installing steam and TF2 I can say that I prefer the pc more so far, however - I have a nagging suspicion that I prefer playing on the pc because there’s so much more content than on the xbox currently.

One thing I enjoy about consoles is that I don’t have to worry about whether I can run the game on my machine, this was the biggest reason for me buying consoles over saving for a decent rig 4 or so years ago. Of course, the xbox does have some major flaws that STILL require fixing by microsoft (I’m on my fourth console now, the other three havng seen the red ring of death).

Mainly though, I enjoy playing on my laptop more at the moment because I’m a big RTS nut, and stormrise was the last straw for me in terms of playing rts’s on a console.

Bah, too much rant. Going to play some more dustbowl.

Survival mode will be fun. Can’t wait to see the endless E-peen measurements/arguments when it comes to how long people lasted.

My computer could not run Peggle. I tried downloading, it just could not handle it. So that probably makes me one of the four people here who are console gamers. However, i’ve had my fair share of PC gaming, and so that also probably makes me one of the two and a half people here who enjoys FPS’s on both.

I wish I had a PC and all, but really I don’t think i’d be missing out on anything special enough that is worth dishing out $600 bucks for. And I bet that’s how most PC gamers feel towards consoles. Just enjoy what you’ve got and desperately wish for things you don’t have, and if you have everything then you are a rich bastard and I envy you greatly.

But for now, I’m happy just playing Castle Crashers and Guitar Hero with my friends.

No matter how much you hate F.E.A.R, you can’t deny that the “Miniature Replica Soldier” trailer is AWESOME.

I’m going to have that song stuck in my head all day.

Jmborb (AKA Dr Horrible)
April 19, 2009

I completely agree with snooglebum, not only is that song stuck in my head, I think I’m going to buy FEAR 2 just for it’s multiplayer.

Ah well, back to toy fort.

If I had a penny for every time I wished I had the PC version of Fallout 3, I’d buy Microsoft. Every framerate jitter, graphical oddity, and lack of mods. It’s still an amazing game, but I still whished I waited a little longer to get it, because the next month I upgraded my PC!
Ah well, at least when I download the DLC it’s added to the game automatically so I don’t have to go through all that bullsh*t Games for Windows has. And plus, some developers put more effort in console versions. In my experience with BULLY on the XBOX 360, I had almost no crashes. Too bad I can’t say the same for most PC games.
The “PC Gaming Alliance” is a joke. First off, Valve isn’t in it. That’s like an auto-fail. Second, developers in the “alliance” do nothing to support PC gaming. As I’ve said, Games For Windows sucks! Capcom hasn’t published many games on PC (and when they do, it’s just a port of a console game) and Epic is a HUGE sellout to the XBox 360. And there’s really no benefit to have an alliance unless you want to pay membership fees. It’s like if I make a tree house club with a “No Girls Allowd” sign outside of it.
And to think, all of this could of been avoided if people simply didn’r pirate PC games, or if developers just turned to Steam for DRM guidence. Pirating is the worst insult to any artist. Had it not been for them, we wouldn’t be in this whole DRM trouble. If anyone who pirates games is reading this, please shoot yourself in the head, but not before buying all the games you’ve previoulsy pirated.
